  7. The Rutles-Piggy in the Middle is fake because it's the same thing as the forward song besides the satan part's.

Carrie Underwood

Another song that Carrie Underwood did was “Before He Cheats” This song is based on a guy cheating on this girl with a blonde. She also is talking about how she is dismantling the guy’s truck. In this song there are a few poetic devices such as, assonance. This is shown in the lines of a Bleached-blonde tramp. (Reputation of vowel sounds) The next poetic device is imagery because you can really picture Carrie Underwood dismantling her boyfriend’s truck because he cheated on her. This is in the chorus stanza. This is a narrative song because it tells the story about a guy cheating on a girl and it’s from the girl’s prospective point of view. In this song the theme of heartbroken and cheating is still continuing.

Poetry of Song
10/2/09

Wasted-
Carrie Underwood won “American Idol “in 2005. Her debut CD, “Some Hearts” was also released in 2005. “Wasted” from this CD contains many poetic devices including Simile.
In this song the use of Simile is shown in the line, “It felt like broken glass.” She states that her tears felt like ice so they broke easily.
Another example of Simile shown in the line, “That would be like pouring raindrops back into a cloud.” She states that it’s impossible for her relationship to be fixed.
There is also an example of Imagery in the lines of “Still morning and color of the night. “She states that she doesn’t want to wait forever to get back with her boyfriend.
In conclusion there are a few examples of the uses of Simile and Imagery. This song discusses that Carrie doesn’t want to spend her life wasted and alone. The theme that is discussed in a song like this is being heartbroken. This theme is also used in many different country songs
